Learning Discipline...

The day before I ate pretty much the same

Breakfast : Bowl of cereal
Lunch : Caesar salad and sharwarma
Tea: Cup of Tea
Dinner : An apple

Walking: 30 mins... Phew! so far so good...

---- Yesterday, ---

I gave in and indulged.

Breakfast : Bowl of cereal & Apple
Lunch: A subway tuna sandwich (wheat bread)
Tea: cup of Tea
Dinner: Chicken shawarma platter & grills

Walking: I had a prior appointment so I couldnt get to walk.

Positives:
  • Felt good to avoid the usual Vanelli's pasta intake and go for some health foods
  • Reduced my sugar intake in the tea (1.5 tsp)
Negatives:
  • Went for the foot long sub as opposed to the 6 inch
  • Was so hungry that I ate late into the night between 10-11pm and slept an hour later.
  • Have heat rashes on my thighs from all the walking (quiet painful)
  • No walking  :(
Today, I'll be joining the nearest Gym... so going to check it out...

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me so far... God bless you all.  :)

  2. Hi Freddy - I've just been looking at your diet and I think you're not eating enough. You need to eat atleast twice as much as you are now.

When you start exercising, when you haven't been for a while, you're kick starting your body into thinking "wow this is interesting, need to start burning fuel" i.e your food. If you don't eat enough when you're starting to work out the body goes into panic mode and thinks you're going to starve it and it saves every single calorie you eat...so you're essentially being counter productive by not eating enough.

Eat more at breakfast - cereal, milk, banana, a slice of toast and jam, tea.
Have a mid morning snack, some fruit salad or a small handful of dried fruit if you're hungry. Have a good lunch - a food long low fat sub (get plenty salad in there with a low fat dressing) is fine if you're planning on walking home in the evening. Dinner could be 2/3rd of lunch.

Easy on the fruit juices( even the "fresh" ones in Bahrain...they have too much sugar) - perhaps if you like a cool drink stick to the diet versions. But PLEASE drink plenty of water - keep a 2 litre bottle on your desk and make sure you drink it before you leave work in the evening!

Put up your food diary on soon and I can have a look.

Great going Freddy - keep that ass moving and you're half way there!! Much love and squeezy hugs

  4. Agree with above Fred. Starve won't work, You will crave the wrong foods and give in. Eat well and eat lots of fruit and veg.

Eat off a smaller plate, chew your food and eat slowly! Enjoy your food. You will never do this unless you enjoy your food. Make nice things for yourself. (healthy nice!)
You go Fred, you can do this!
    Love tracy
